Monday, July 6

on monday blues.

The problem with Monday Blues is that start since Sunday mornings. You wake up on a fine sunny Sunday, think about the endless stretch of the day, before you crash to a grinding halt and balk at the realization that the next day is a Monday after all.

Of course, the working class suffer more symptoms than the others, for it is the dread of dragging oneself to work that builds that fear and depression above the other things. Monday Blues determine that you will not enjoy your last few moments of Sunday night, and a late night still will not make it anymore enjoyable, but only prolong the misery of the next day.

Once you've crossed that hurdle that is Monday however, there is an almost immediate collective sigh and acknowledgement that the worse is somewhat over. Tuesday is one day to Hump Day, and the subsequent days of the week are ticked off as Days Remaining To The Weekend.

I reckon if I could declare any of the weekday to be a non-working day, I would pick it Wednesday. Cause even if you make it Monday to have along weekened, it will only inversely make Tuesday the Gloom Day. On the other hand, if it's Wednesday, then it's always two days to a break, which makes for awesome motivation.

If you could declare any other weekday to be a non-working day, which day would you pick?
