I woke up today, thinking I was late. As I ran for my train in the drizzling rain, and settled into a book, a few stops later a colleague texted me to say she was running late. As I replied her, I thought that it was strange that she would inform me at such late notice (she lives quite a distance away, so the heads up would be earlier if so).
As I looked at my phone trying to decipher the time, I noticed it was reading 8.10am. I couldn't figure it out. Was it broken? Did it crash unknowingly? Is it daylight savings already?
I tried to peek at the watches of the other commuters to verify, but none of them had a timepiece.
It wasn't until several minutes later as I got off the train onto the platform that I managed to glance at the time.
It was only 8.15am.
I was one full hour ahead of schedule. Well, a full hour if I was going to be late.
As I grinned with the thought of being saved (I would make it to work on time, alright), I realized that one of the reasons I got muddled was the bright sunlight in the morning. It actually came much earlier.
So, spring is officially here, it seems.
