on the hangover and being a lamp.

Contrary to popular suggestions, The Hangover is not a good movie.

I like to think that being a cinema major, I at least have a discerning tastebud, and can tell how a movie will average based on watching a trailer.

With The Hangover, the trailer had stupid crude toilet/sexual humor written all over it, a la Dude Where's My Car (a movie which had me wanting to walk out before Disc 2 of the VCD era). I had no intentions to catch it and had already dismissed it from my to-watch list.

However, after some persuasions and suggestions from friends and colleagues that the movie was actually quite funny and unexpected, curiousity had the better of me, and I decided to give it a go. Even IMDB had a decent rating for it.

And it turned out exactly like I had expected. Stupid crude toilet/sexual humor. Which was really disappointing because I went along with foreign suggestions, and turns out I had been duped.

I'm sticking to my trailer instincts from now on...

I would never admit that I'm a great example of a follower of Christ, because I know in all honesty I'm not exactly a good role model material. There's alot that I try to change, alot that falls apart often and I slip up easily.

Yet today, I was put to a test when a colleague had questions about Christianity. And the previous day I had a discussion with another colleague as well. I'm hesitant to jump to the conclusion that it reveals something, but nevertheless I thank God for the opportunity to share the faith. I only hope I don't end up tainting His image to them.

It appears there are a numbrer of people in my workplace who are active believers. And some of them are thinking of gathering for a short while on a day in the week to pray for our fellow colleagues and other matters. To me, this is pretty exciting revolutionary stuff.

Because we've all heard the talk about how we can bring love and turn our words into deeds, but finally here's an opportunity to act on it. And together with actual colleagues in the actual workplace as well. That is honestly, awesome.

Create in me a new heart, O Lord, that I may bring glory to Your name, and be a person of integrity and bearing good fruits that show Your character.
