World Cup has finally started!
Tell me it's not exciting to have THREE matches to look forward to everyday!
And it's interesting how football fever has hit town. Everyone now has a new topic for conversations too.
And to those who are supporting teams just because (a)they are the favourites to win, (b)everyone else seem to be supporting them,(c)they seem nicer to watch because you heard they are good, or (d)you're just a bandwagon jumper, no offense, but you guys are really missing out.
I used to support Italy (yes April, hip hip and a hooray...) because of Gianfranco Zola (short superb striker - make the connection...), but never really felt very passionate about the team although like everyone else, you want your team to win. Then one day a friend and I were talking about it, and we were talking about why we support the teams we support. Then being an England fan, he tried to talked me over. He said he supports England because he follows the English Premier League, and because of that he knows the English players' strength's, weaknesses, etc. Needless to say, that logic stuck with me, and I got converted into an England fan instead.
Point is, while it's nice to watch matches even if you aren't any teams' fan, pick a team when you watch a match. Because it's more exciting when you want a team to win, and you get to ride the emotional rollercoaster; getting thrilled when they score, dejected when they concede, fear when they might concede a goal, and the fervent hope of them trying to win back the match.
Support a team with spirit guys! Go England!!!
